Got NoMachine running on my pc, but it wouldn't connect. I could get the server to start, but I couldn't really do anything but run it at default settings as it's not designed at all to be controlled from the command line. Installed NoMachine on the linux server (which is an absolute ballache using the terminal, NoMachine is not designed to be installed on a command line system clearly). Tried to connect with TightVNC - same error though. Installed tigerVNC on server, and got that all working (or at least no errors when running it). (Installing fonts didn't work, and the folders were all present and correct). No luck (keeps coming up with " "Error in TightVNC Viewer: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond." I did keep getting a weird 'fonts not found' error when running the server host though, so it may be that there's a fault somewhere. Installed tightvnc on server, and tried to connect using tightVNC on windows. I can get into the command line using SSH (Putty) without issue, and I've attempted the following: I'm not sure which end is causing the trouble though, however I'm new to linux in general so I'm assuming the issue is on that end. So I currently have a ubuntu cloud server running, and I'm trying to get a GUI remote viewer set up for it (mostly been trying to use TightVNC).
